Why MWP Safety Certificates
Every inspection is conducted by a licenced Approved Inspection Station (AIS #12673) inspector — not a sub-contractor or apprentice.
Unlike many inspection stations, we never refuse a vehicle based on age. Classic cars, old farm utes, vintage bikes — all welcome.
Your safety certificate is emailed to you the second the inspection is complete. No waiting, no post, no delays at the office.
Completely unbiased. We don't have a workshop so we have zero incentive to fail your vehicle. Our only goal is an honest inspection.
No surprise charges. The price you see is the price you pay. Quote includes travel — no call-out fees, no hidden extras.
If your vehicle needs minor repairs, we issue an advisory notice giving you 14 days to fix items without needing a full re-inspection.
Leave your vehicle with the keys and we'll inspect it without you needing to be there. Convenient for busy sellers and fleet managers.
When your inspector departs, we send you a live tracking link so you can watch the van approaching in real time on your phone.

Questions Answered
A safety certificate (also called a roadworthy certificate or RWC) is a Queensland Government document that confirms your vehicle meets minimum safety standards at the time of inspection. In QLD, a safety certificate is legally required when selling or transferring registration of a vehicle between private parties. It is issued by a licensed Approved Inspection Station (AIS) — like us (AIS #12673).
We inspect all road-registered light vehicles under 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass, including: cars, sedans, hatchbacks, wagons, SUVs, 4WDs, utes, vans, light trucks, motorcycles, scooters, motor trikes, trailers, box trailers, car trailers, boat trailers, and caravans. If you're unsure whether your vehicle qualifies, give us a call on (07) 4079 0767.
No. We impose no age limits on vehicles. Classic cars, vintage bikes, old farm utes — all are welcome. Many inspection stations refuse older vehicles, but we believe every vehicle deserves a fair, honest inspection regardless of its age.
Yes. Under Queensland law, a seller must provide a current safety certificate when selling or transferring a registered vehicle through a private sale. The certificate is valid for 2 months or 2,000 km (whichever comes first). Note: it is not required if you are selling a vehicle unregistered.
If your vehicle has minor defects, we issue a 14-day advisory notice. This gives you time to fix the listed items and return for a focused re-check on those specific points without a full re-inspection fee. For significant defects, we'll clearly explain what's needed. Importantly, we never do repairs ourselves — so our assessments are 100% unbiased.
Yes! We inspect all trailer types — box trailers, car trailers, boat trailers, camper trailers and full caravans. A safety certificate is required when transferring trailer registration privately in Queensland. We come to wherever your trailer is parked — no need to tow it anywhere.
Yes. If you can't be present during the inspection, simply leave your vehicle accessible with the keys and we'll carry out the inspection without you. This is popular with sellers who are time-poor or with fleet managers. Just let us know when booking.
Most inspections take 30–45 minutes depending on vehicle type and condition. Trailers and motorcycles are typically faster. Cars and vans take a little longer. We'll give you a realistic time estimate when you book.
Absolutely — it's our home turf. We're locally based and prioritise bookings in Mount Warren Park, Beenleigh, Eagleby, Windaroo, Bahrs Scrub, Belivah, Holmview, Loganholme, and Tanah Merah. We typically have same-day availability in these areas. We also service all of Logan City, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich, and wider SE Queensland.
When your inspector leaves to head to your location, we send you a text or email with a live GPS tracking link. You can open this link on your phone and watch the van travelling to you in real time — just like Uber. No more wondering "are they on the way yet?" — you can see it live.
MWP Safety Certificates is a trading name of Tick It Roadworthies — Queensland's mobile safety certificate specialists. We operate under the same AIS licence (#12673), same inspectors, and the same commitment to honest, mobile inspections. The MWP brand is our locally focused operation specifically for the Mount Warren Park, Beenleigh and Logan corridor. Visit tickitroadworthies.com.au to learn more about the parent brand.
Your vehicle should be in a reasonable state for the inspection — you don't need to detail it, but it should be accessible and clean enough for the inspector to check all components. As a locally based business in Mount Warren Park, our inspectors are used to all types of vehicles in all conditions across the Logan area. Here are some handy things to do at home before we arrive:
Check your lights. Walk around the vehicle and check that all lights work — headlights (high and low beam), indicators (front and rear), brake lights, reversing lights, and hazard lights. Blown globes are one of the most common fail items and are easy to fix yourself for a few dollars from any auto store.
Check your tyres. Look at the tread depth and condition of all four tyres (plus the spare if applicable). Check that tyres are inflated to the correct pressure — under or over-inflated tyres are a common advisory item. Also check the sidewalls for cracking or damage.
Other helpful preparation: Ensure the battery is charged and the vehicle starts easily; remove loose items from the interior and boot; make sure the handbrake holds the vehicle on a slope; ensure there's adequate fuel to run the engine throughout the inspection.
If you knock off these simple checks beforehand, you'll dramatically increase your chances of a clean pass first time. If something comes up that you weren't expecting, remember we have a 14-day advisory window for minor items.

"Safety Certificate" or "RWC" refers to a Queensland safety certificate issued under the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995. "Inspection" refers to the safety certificate inspection service provided by the Company.
MWP Safety Certificates provides mobile safety certificate inspections for light vehicles under 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass, including cars, SUVs, motorcycles, scooters, trailers, caravans and light commercial vehicles. Inspections are conducted in accordance with Queensland Transport and Main Roads (TMR) standards. The Company operates as a licenced Approved Inspection Station (AIS) under Queensland law.
To enable a successful inspection, the Customer must ensure the vehicle:
The Company reserves the right to refuse inspection or charge an additional call-out fee if the vehicle is not prepared in accordance with these requirements and a return visit is necessary.
Full payment is required before or at the time of inspection. Fees are as quoted at the time of booking. The Company reserves the right to adjust pricing with notice. Any additional charges (e.g., extended travel, after-hours surcharges) will be disclosed at the time of booking. The Company does not offer credit terms to private Customers.
The Company takes all reasonable care when handling customer vehicles. However, the Company's liability for any damage to a vehicle during inspection is limited to direct physical damage caused by demonstrable negligence of Company personnel. The Company is not liable for: (a) pre-existing damage or faults; (b) mechanical failure caused by a latent defect; (c) damage resulting from the Customer's failure to prepare the vehicle in accordance with Clause 3; (d) consequential loss, lost income, or costs arising from a failed inspection result. The Company carries professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
A safety certificate will be issued only when the inspected vehicle meets all Queensland TMR standards at the time of inspection. The Company cannot guarantee the outcome of any inspection in advance. If a vehicle fails inspection, the Customer is entitled to an itemised list of defects. An advisory notice may be issued for minor defects, providing 14 days for remediation. Upon satisfactory remediation of advisory items, a focused re-inspection will be conducted. The issued safety certificate represents the vehicle's condition at the date and time of inspection only.
Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time will incur no charge. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment may incur a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the quoted inspection fee. No-shows — where the inspector arrives and the vehicle is not accessible or the Customer is uncontactable — may incur a charge of up to 100% of the quoted fee to cover the inspector's time and travel costs. The Company will make reasonable attempts to contact the Customer before marking an appointment as a no-show. The Company reserves the right to reschedule appointments due to operational requirements, and will provide reasonable notice to the Customer.
Where a vehicle has minor defects that do not immediately prevent the issuance of a safety certificate but require attention, the Company may issue an advisory notice. This notice is valid for 14 calendar days from the date of inspection. The Customer must have the listed items rectified by a qualified repairer and contact the Company for a re-check. The Company does not carry out repairs and has no financial interest in repair outcomes.
The Company collects personal information (name, phone, email, address, vehicle details) for the purpose of providing inspection services and communicating with Customers. This information is handled in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988. Personal information is not sold to third parties. It may be shared with the parent entity Tick It Roadworthies and with Queensland Government authorities as required by law.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
The Company reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be published on the Company website at mwpsafetycertificates.com.au. Continued use of our services after publication of updated terms constitutes acceptance.
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms and Conditions, together with any written quote or booking confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between the Company and the Customer in respect of the inspection service. They supersede all prior representations, negotiations and understandings.
The Company shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to: extreme weather events, natural disasters, government directives, civil unrest, or major traffic incidents preventing access to the inspection location.
In the event of a dispute, the parties agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 14 days, either party may refer the matter to a recognised mediation service in Queensland before commencing legal proceedings. These terms are substantially aligned with the terms of our parent entity — please also refer to Tick It Roadworthies for further information.
The Company reserves the right to refuse inspection of any vehicle where: the vehicle presents a safety risk to the inspector; the vehicle is in an inaccessible or hazardous location; the Customer behaves in an aggressive or threatening manner; or the vehicle is not as described at the time of booking. In such cases, a cancellation fee may apply.
